Maple Bourbon Syrup/Glaze

A great topping and addition to almost anything savory to give it a hint of sweetness. Works wonders for things like pancakes and waffles, and it will blow your mind when putting it on some fried chicken. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  1. 2 tbs of bourbon
  2. 1 cup of maple syrup
  3. ½ tsp of chili powder
  4. ½ tsp vanilla extract
  5. ½ tbs butter

Method:

  1. Add bourbon to cold pan and turn up the flame to medium/medium low and cook out all the alcohol. You can use the flame test but be careful.
  2. Add in your butter and cook till all the butter has been melted
  3. Add in your maple syrup and cook for 1 minute
  4. Add in your chili powder and vanilla extract and simmer on low for 2-3 minutes or until well incorporated.
  5. Turn off the flame and let it sit for 15 minutes before using to make sure it thickens up.
